Gifts of cash are an excellent way to provide The Salvation Army with immediate funds necessary to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the people we serve. These donations include checks, money orders and credit card donations, as well as online donations. Your gifts can be designated for the benefit of a specific program or service, or for The Salvation Army's general use and purposes in your area.

You can also become a monthly supporter of The Salvation Army by joining our Bed and Bread Club. Gifts to the Bed & Bread Club help The Salvation Army provide temporary emergency shelter, and motel vouchers so homeless families and their children have a safe place to stay until they can obtain permanent housing.

Benefits to you:
By making a cash donation to The Salvation Army, you are able to claim a charitable deduction of up to 50% of your adjusted gross income in the year you make the gift. If you cannot utilize the entire deduction in that year, deductions may be carried over for an additional five years.

If you live in Minnesota and do not itemize deductions, you may take a deduction on your Minnesota income tax return of 50% of the amount of your total charitable contributions exceeding $500.
