Kevin Love Coat Drive Yields 400 Jackets

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love and Comcast held a coat drive in December for people served by The Salvation Army Harbor Light Shelter in downtown Minneapolis.

Love gave the drive a boost by making an appearance at Best Buy in Maple Grove, where he gave fans tickets to the Wolves’ Dec. 17 game vs. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for every coat they donated.

Love personally delivered 400 coats to Harbor Light Dec. 19. He toured the facility and saw firsthand how his effort will change lives in the cold winter months ahead.

“The Salvation Army is extremely thankful for the efforts of Kevin Love, the Timberwoves and Comcast,” said Envoy Bill Miller, Harbor Light Administrator. “Their efforts will go a long way in helping the people we serve, many of whom spend entire days outside in sub-zero weather.”
