New Salvation Army housing, medical/dental clinic opens in Rochester
The Salvation Army’s answer to serving the less fortunate in Rochester is now one big $5 million, 33,000 square-foot reality. Those are the specs of Castleview, a new mixed-use development located in downtown Rochester, just a few blocks from Mayo Clinic. The four-story Salvation Army facility includes 32 single-person apartments for low-income and homeless individuals, and an entire floor of medical and dental services. (read more)

Legendary Minnesota Vikings linebacker Matt Blair threw a fund-raiser for the Twin Cities Salvation Army Feb. 20 that featured auctions, fellow celebrities and some of the best food in the Twin Cities. It was the fourth time since 2003 that Blair has thrown Taste of the Town, a $110-per-plate benefit boasting the best local chefs cooking their best fare alongside big-time local celebrities. Divisional youth eat bugs, brave outdoors
at Troop Rally

Considering its theme of “Man vs. Wild”, the 2008 Troop Rally of The Salvation Army Northern Division couldn’t have been held in a better place: the middle of nowhere. Nearly 200 kids from 10 Salvation Army locations across Minnesota braved the bitter cold at Northwoods Camp for the March 1 event, which included music, worship, and plenty of outdoors-themed games.
