National Salvation Army Week in the
Twin Cities
This week the Twin Cities Salvation Army will celebrate the 54th annual National Salvation Army Week by holding community events throughout the region.
The importance of The Salvation Army has been underscored by Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, who has declared May 12 – 18 as Salvation Army Week in Minnesota. (read more)
The Salvation Army is collecting
cell phones, shoes, books throughout Twin Cities
The Salvation Army is collecting new and gently used shoes, books and cell phones at 28 businesses throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
Collection bins will be out May 12 – 17 at coffeehouses, book stores, bakeries and cafés in Minneapolis, St. Paul and 14 suburbs. (read more)
Comcast Day of Caring
The third floor of The Salvation Army Harbor Light Shelter in Minneapolis is now as brightly colored as the hearts of Comcast workers.
On May 3 nearly 40 employees from Comcast – a national cable, Internet and communications company – spent three hours brushing gold and pink paint onto Harbor Light hallway and dormitory walls. (read more)
