Christmas Maaco-ver: Auto Body Company Painting 1,200 Kettles
Call it a Maaco-ver. All through October, six Twin Cities metro area Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting centers will be spraying shiny red paint on 1,200 faded Salvation Army kettles. Each of the centers agreed to handle 200 kettles a piece, an overall effort worth about $12,000 in materials and labor. (read more)

Target Volunteers: A September to Remember
With all the help volunteers from Target Corp. gave The Salvation Army last month, it certainly was a September to remember. On Sept. 22, more than 50 Target managers and human resources professionals from across the Midwest provided employment assistance to dozens of adults served by The Salvation Army. Two days later, a group of Target volunteers spent hours painting the youth services area of the Payne Ave. Salvation Army in St. Paul.  (read more)

Comedian Louie Anderson Stocks Salvation Army Food Shelves
Comedian Louie Anderson paid a visit to the West 7th Salvation Army in St. Paul Sept. 25 to deliver food from Second Harvest Heartland, the Upper Midwest’s largest hunger-relief organization and a key supplier of food distributed by The Salvation Army.  (read more)

Acupuncture Clinic Opens in Salvation Army Shelter
The Salvation Army Harbor Light Shelter in downtown Minneapolis is known for helping people in need through feeding programs, spiritual guidance, housing and rehabilitation. Now the state’s largest homeless outreach center has added another service: acupuncture.  (read more)
