Last Chance to Help Flood Survivors in Minot
If you’ve thought of helping The Salvation Army serve food to flood survivors in Minot but haven’t pulled the trigger, time is running out.
Sept. 11 is the last day that The Salvation Army will serve lunch and dinner in neighborhoods across the city, with food service at the local shelter running through Sept. 15. Until then, dozens of volunteers are still needed every day. (read more)
Extreme Makeover: St. Cloud Edition
Monster renovation projects that would have taken months to complete were finished in a single day at the St. Cloud Salvation Army, where on Aug. 25 about 150 employees from ING Direct traded a day of banking for eight hours of building an entire playground and pavilion, plus landscaping, laying carpet, painting and more. 300 New 'Dos in Fargo
By noon, there were already dozens of kids in line. They weren’t waiting to buy the hottest new video game, or have their shirt signed by a celebrity heartthrob.
In an economy that has battered Fargo/Moorhead families, the kids were waiting diligently to receive, of all things, a free haircut. Hundreds of other children would show up later, for a total of 303 youth haircuts provided during the Fargo Salvation Army’s “Cuts for Kids” program. (read more)
