New Salvation Army Volunteers Must Take
One-Hour Class
To Help With Flood Relief
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – March 8, 2011 – With major flooding expected locally and statewide, The Salvation Army could need a record number of volunteers.
New Salvation Army volunteers who would like to serve flood survivors and relief workers must attend a one-hour class this Friday, March 11 from 2–3 p.m. at The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters, 2445 Prior Ave. N., Roseville, MN 55113.
Volunteers are most needed to drive a mobile kitchen. Other activities include food service and administrative duties. All will be covered in the class, along with safety tips and useful information about The Salvation Army and its role in disasters.

Current Salvation Army volunteers who are already volunteer certified do not need to take the class, but should add their name to The Salvation Army’s list of eligible flood volunteers by calling Heidi at
651-746-3415.
“There’s a battle coming and we need all the volunteers we can get,” said Major Byron Medlock, Disaster Services secretary. “Through the kind hearts and hard work of Salvation Army volunteers, we will win this fight.”

Funds for The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services come from corporate and private donations given specifically for disaster relief.
