The Salvation Army Assisting Crews Searching for
Fallen MN DOT Worker
March 23, 2011 – The Salvation Army is providing assistance to search and recovery crews following the loss of MN DOT heavy equipment operator Michael Struck, presumed drowned after his backhoe slipped into Seven Mile Creek in southern Minnesota on Tuesday.
A mobile kitchen and volunteers from The Salvation Army in Mankato will provide hot meals and drinks in addition to much-needed counseling as workers attempt to locate his body today.
According to Fox News, Struck, 39, was a nine-year employee of MN DOT. The incident occurred just before noon yesterday while Struck was clearing branches to help the creek flow.
Prayers go out to the grieving family and friends affected by this tragic event.
