Volunteers Needed for Flood Clean
Up in Moorhead on Saturday

April 23, 2009 – The Salvation Army is gearing up to feed volunteers in Moorhead on Saturday to help residents remove up to a million sandbags. Unfortunately the outlook for a swell of volunteers is bleak. Help is needed.

Calling all Metro Area volunteers willing to take a Saturday to help a flood weary community! Looking for hundreds of volunteers to help residents remove sandbags from their property. Must be able to lift 25 pounds continually and not be afraid to get muddy. Bring work gloves and rubber gloves. It is recommended to have an updated tetanus shot.

The effort will go on rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 25. Food for volunteers will be provided, but housing will be left up to the volunteers to arrange.

Individual Volunteers - Report to the old WalMart building in Dillworth - 1711 Center AVE W - busses will transport you to the staging area where you will board a bus to neighborhoods.

Groups in already in busses - Report directly to the old VFW in Moorhead at 2201 1st AVE N. Your bus will be directed to a local neighborhood.
