ROSEVILLE, Minn. – June 2, 2010 – Registration has officially opened for this year’s MOST Amazing Race, a Salvation Army fund-raising event patterned after the popular CBS reality show.
Now in its fifth year, the July 24 race will feature qualifying teams of two completing mental and physical challenges at popular locations across Minneapolis. The first team to reach the finish line wins $5,000 courtesy of Wells Fargo. The top fund-raising team wins two Delta Airlines tickets.
Up to 30 teams may qualify for the race in one of two ways: by being one of the top 10 fund-raising teams that raise more than $2,000 or by being one of 20 top finishers at a qualifying event held the morning of the race. Last year more than 130 racers participated.
Registration for this official Minneapolis Aquatennial event is available online at by clicking here. To be eligible to compete in the qualifying race, teams must raise a minimum of $200 by July 21 and be 18 years or older.
The MOST Amazing Race benefits The Salvation Army's Bed and Bread Club®, which helps alleviate hunger and homelessness in the Twin Cities. More than $170,000 has been raised since the race started in 2006.
