Free, Four-Day Camp Offered in Northern MN for
Children with an Incarcerated Parent
125 openings available at The Salvation Army’s state-of-the-art
‘Northwoods Camp’ in Finlayson, Minn.
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – June 24, 2009 –The Salvation Army has 125 openings available for children to spend July 28 – 31 at the organization’s Northwoods Camp in Finlayson, Minn. (near Hinckley), a modern 205-acre facility with an abundance of activities.
The free camp will be held for Minnesota and North Dakota children in grades 2 – 6 with a parent who is either incarcerated, on parole, or has completed parole in the last year.
Nestled on Elbow Lake, Northwoods Camp activities include a miniature water park, ropes course, petting zoo, boating, singing, Bible study, crafts and games. More importantly, the camp offers children the understanding and loving attention they need to cope with their family hardship.
Transportation assistance is available in the Twin Cities.

The Salvation Army serves more than 200,000 people in the Twin Cities and is a safety net for those with no place to turn. It serves 2,100 hot meals a day and houses more than 850 people every night.
