PRESS RELEASE

Emergency Disaster Services Canteen
Featured on Food Network Show

August 20, 2007 – The Salvation Army’s emergency disaster services canteens (mobile kitchens) and crews will be featured on an upcoming episode of the Food Network program Dinner: Impossible on Wednesday, August 22, at 10 p.m. EST.

Of the nine shows produced so far this season, Dinner: Impossible’s producer has indicated that this is the best so far! If you are unfamiliar with this program, the Food Network description of it is as follows:

If you could combine James Bond with MacGyver, you would get Robert Irvine, a real life chef extraordinaire and the host of Dinner: Impossible. Each week, Robert (with the help of his two sous-chefs, George and George) is thrown a new culinary curveball and the team must figure out a way to solve their challenge before time runs out. From making dinner for 150 passengers aboard a luxury locomotive to recreating an authentic 18th century meal, will he succeed or will it truly be, Dinner: Impossible?

On this particular episode, Chef Robert Irvine’s mission is to feed 1,000 hungry construction workers. He will have only two Salvation Army canteens and six hours to complete this mission. Will he succeed? Those who tune in to find out will be happy to see The Salvation Army’s mobile kitchens starring throughout the show.
