Salvation Army Offering Financial
Assistance to Flooded Counties

ROSEVILLE, MN – August 23, 2007 The Salvation Army is offering financial assistance for emergency needs of those affected in the six county flood disaster area. Those seeking help should call 1-800-721-4202.

In addition to financial assistance, The Salvation Army continues to serve meals in Stockton, MN and outlying areas. More than 3,000 meals have been served. A Fargo North Dakota disaster response team will arrive on Thursday along with a team from Austin Minnesota. Teams include Salvation Army officers who are ordained ministers to assist in emotional and spiritual care for residents.

Clean up kits are being delivered to surrounding areas from the Rochester Salvation Army along with bottled water and Gatorade which were donated by Target. The Salvation Army disaster response team is assessing the need for a distribution site for citizens of multiple counties as cleanup and recovery begins.
