Fargo Salvation Army Strikes Gold First

FARGO, ND – November 19, 2007 –An American Eagle gold coin, valued at over $800.00 showed up in a Salvation Army kettle on Friday evening. “This comes as a welcome surprise,” said Captain Adam Moore, Commanding Officer of The Salvation Army Fargo. “This being a tradition for the last several years nationwide, we typically see the coin towards the end of the kettle season.”

The coin will be sold to the highest bidder and the proceeds added toward this years goal of $600,000.

“We are grateful to the person or persons that make this donation each year and hope they know the difference their gift makes in changing the lives of hurting people,” said Moore.
