PRESS RELEASE

Cargill Spending $10k in Fargo to Warm Children, Fill Bellies

November 3, 2009 – Fifty kids served by the Fargo Salvation Army will soon receive $100 worth of new winter wear thanks to Cargill.

Employees of the agricultural company recently shopped for $5,000 worth of new coats, hats and mittens that they will give to the children during a presentation at the Fargo Salvation Army (304 Roberts St. N.) on Nov. 9 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. In addition, each child will receive a brand new duffel bag.

Also at the presentation, Cargill officials will give the Fargo Salvation Army a check for $5,000 to help fund the facility’s daily food program, which dishes out about 7,000 hot meals a month to hundreds of people in need.

“We are extremely thankful for the generosity of Cargill,” said Captain Bill Mealy, Fargo Salvation Army administrator. “Through their help we will feed more people and keep more children warm this winter.”
