Key Vikings Players to Visit Harbor
Light Shelter on Thanksgiving

Frerotte, McKinnie, Evans to serve food, distribute coats

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – November 25, 2008 – Three marquee Minnesota Vikings players will visit The Salvation Army Harbor Light Shelter in downtown Minneapolis on Thanksgiving Day from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Quarterback Gus Frerotte, offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie and defensive tackle Fred Evans will serve dessert and distribute winter coats at the shelter, located at 1010 Currie Ave. Frerotte will be accompanied by his family, while McKinnie and Evans will each bring their mother.

The group will serve dessert cookies and pie to hundreds of people who will have just finished eating at Harbor Light’s annual Thanksgiving dinner. Later, they will distribute up to 900 child- and adult-sized coats gathered during The Salvation Army’s October “Coats for Kids” drive.

“Food and warmth are the two things for which Harbor Light residents are most thankful,” said Envoy Bill Miller, Harbor Light administrator. “Having three Vikings players who care enough to help us provide these things on such an important day is an honor and a privilege.”
