Minnesota Wild Doubling Donations
Made Dec. 21 at Xcel Energy Center

St. Paul Firefighters will staff kettles 5 p.m.–7 p.m.

December 18, 2009 – ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild has provided $5,000 in matching funds for donations made to Salvation Army kettles before the team’s Dec. 21 game against the Colorado Avalanche. The kettles, staffed by St. Paul firefighters, will be placed outside Xcel Energy Center from 5 p.m.–7 p.m.

“We are urging all 18,000 Wild fans at Monday’s game to bring a little extra money to drop into one of our kettles,” said Major Darryl Leedom, commander of the Twin Cities Salvation Army. “Donations of just a few dollars allow The Salvation Army to serve a hot meal to a homeless person.”

Fans who cannot attend the game can still capitalize on the match by giving to the Wild’s online red kettle. To do so, click here.

“We thank the Wild for supporting The Salvation Army during this season of giving,” Leedom added. “Their efforts will help us feed families, house the homeless and free people from addiction.”
