The MOST Amazing Race

RACE DETAILS

Everything you need to know about The MOST Amazing Race

What
Imagine up to 30 two-person teams racing around Minneapolis and St. Paul, solving clues to find various checkpoints. Once you get to the checkpoints, you must complete a task before moving on to the next checkpoint. These checkpoint challenges may test you mentally or physically or might just be downright silly. The first team to sucessfully complete all of the challenges is the winner.

When
A qualifying event will be held at the Bierman Track and Field Stadium at the University of Minnesota the morning of July 23. The qualifying event begins at 10:00am, but teams need to be checked in by 9:30am.

The 20 teams that qualify, along with up to 10 fundraising teams, will continue on to The MOST Amazing Race. Teams that do not qualify for the final race are welcome to volunteer that afternoon at one of the race challenge locations.

Qualified teams need to be checked in at the starting line by 1:30pm. The starting and finish line will be at the end of the Stone Arch Bridge, located at West River Parkway and Portland Ave. Finish line festivities will begin at 5:30pm.

Why
The MOST Amazing Race is a great event, giving participants the chance to challenge themselves both physically and mentally while having a whole lot of fun. But more importantly, it is a fundraiser for The Salvation Army's Bed and Bread Club®, whose mission is to fight homelessness and hunger. View a short video on the Bed and Bread Club®.

Fundraising
Teams must raise a minimum of $200 by July 20 at 11:59pm to be eligible to participate in the qualifying race. The $20 team registration fee will count toward the $200 minimum. Teams may fundraise using our convenient online system. Donations and the race registration fee are tax deductible. Check out these great fundraising incentives:

1.) All teams who raise more than $1,000 will receive a two minute head start at the qualifying race.**

2.)The top 10 fundraising teams that raise more than $2,000 by July 20 will secure a place in The MOST Amazing Race. These teams will not be required to participate in the qualifying event. Each of the 10 teams will be notified on July 21 and will be posted online.**

**All mailed or dropped off funds must be received by July 15, and online funds must be received by July 20 at 11:59 p.m. to qualify.
(All donations are time-stamped, so any online gifts submitted after the 11:59pm deadline will not affect teams' overall fundraising totals.)

3.) The top fundraising team will receive two round trip tickets on Delta Airlines for flights in all 50 states (including Hawaii and Canada).

4.) The top three fundraising teams will receive a fast-forward, which allows a team to skip any one challenge during the final race.

The Finish
The MOST Amazing Race will officially end once all teams have made it to all the checkpoints and completed each challenge. The grand prize will be awarded at this time.
