Everything you need to know about The MOST Amazing Race
What
Imagine up to 20 two-person teams racing around Minneapolis, solving clues to find various checkpoints. Once you get to the checkpoints, you must complete a task before moving on to the next checkpoint. These checkpoint challenges may test you mentally or physically or might just be downright silly.
The first team to sucessfully complete all of the challenges is the winner.
When
The MOST Amazing Race will take place on July 21. Starting time is 12:30pm. Finish line festivities begin at 5pm.
Where
The Race starting point is Minnehaha Academy South Campus. The finish line is at the KOOL 108 RiverBlast, located at West River Parkway and Portland Ave. along the Mississippi River.
Why
The MOST Amazing Race is a great event, giving participants the chance to challenge themselves both physically and mentally while having a whole lot of fun. But more importantly, it is a fundraiser for The Salvation Army's Bed and Bread Club®, whose mission is to fight homelessness and hunger. View a short video on the Bed and Bread Club®.
Pledges
In addition to the $30 registration fee, each team must raise a minimum of $200 to present on June 23 to participate in the qualifying event. Teams may donate the $200 themselves or request pledges from family and friends. Teams may collect pledges using our convenient online pledge system or by the pledge form available online. Pledge donations are tax deductible.
Those teams who do not qualify on June 23 have another opportunity to compete in The MOST Amazing Race through fundraising efforts. The top 5 teams that raise more than $1,500 by Midnight July 12, 2007 will advance to The MOST Amazing Race. Those teams will be notified July 13, 2007.
All race-qualifying teams may continue fundraising until Midnight July 20, for the chance to win a fast-forward, which allows a team to skip any one challenge during the race. The top three fundraising teams will receive a fast-forward.
All cash and check funds raised must be receive by The Salvation Army by July 13, teams may continue to raise funds using debit or credit cards in effort to receive a fast-forward via team websites through Midnight July 20.
The Finish
The MOST Amazing Race will officially end once all teams have made it to all the checkpoints and completed each challenge. The grand prize will be awarded at this time.
