DISASTER VOLUNTEER TRAINING
There are many ways you can become involved in serving the community through
emergency disaster services. No effective disaster relief operation can operate without the efforts of many volunteers with a diverse range of experience and training. Some people are content to hand out a cup of cold water to a thirsty stranger. Other people seek training at the highest level possible to serve in specialized areas of service. There may be some built-in expenses in some volunteer opportunities that are not covered by The Salvation Army. We look forward to helping you make a lasting impact on people in crisis throughout our service area.
Our highly trained volunteer professionals are among the finest, and we invite you to become part of our team. With your help we are working to meet basic human needs and alleviate suffering wherever that may exist. It is our desire to provide an opportunity for all to serve those in need.
In the event of a disaster, these courses are subject to rescheduling and/or cancellation. For all scheduled courses there is a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25 people per class. For those courses that do not meet the minimum requirement, we will notify the registrants five days in advance of cancellation of the course, due to lack of participants.
